Oman 2040 Economist
An economist by training; and has over 22 years of professional experience at the Central Bank of Oman and the Supreme Council for Planning in the Sultanate of Oman. He was previously appointed as an advisor on FDI statistics in the framework of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Yousef obtained his PhD in Economics from King’s College London (University of London). In his Thesis he examined the impact of FDI on the efficiency of the private sector and economic development in Oman.He is the author of the monograph “Omani economy: globalization and the winds of change”. In addition, he was recently co-editor of two books, entitled “Economic diversification in Gulf countries: the private sector as an engine of growth” (Vol.1) and “Economic diversification in Gulf countries: comparing global challenges”(Vol. 2) published by the (Palgrave Macmillan).
